Celebrations

We are in “maintaining” mode. Maintaining a somewhat balanced life amidst the hassle of 2 or 3 long driving trips to the doctor. We are gone for 5 to 7 hours for each trip. Really cuts into the relaxed, retired life style 🙂 Oh well…it is what it is as my friend and I like to say.
Today we celebrate Zachary’s birthday. You can read a post about him at my daughter’s blog. Well he’s celebrating I’m sure! Tomorrow the family gathers to celebrate him. I hope he will be surprised and will love the gift we are giving him. It’s a thoughtful, memory gift, not a big splashy money gift. Sometimes I get inspired and this time I had a little help from my daughter.
Tomorrow we celebrate the birth of our nation. Zach always thought the fireworks were for him! Maybe they are, Zach. Celebrating a fight for life and independence. Jim and I were talking today about our country…the only nation we can think of founded on an idea, not on political boundaries or ethnicity or religion but freedom and individual liberty. We love this good old USA and will be celebrating the Declaration of Independence tomorrow!
