The Day Before

The day before Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Eve my Jim turns into a shopping demon. He’s convinced that the stores are going to be either closed or so crowded that he’ll be unable to get what he wants and needs. So he’s up early, out the door on his “rounds” making sure our cupboards are full.

Today it was a wine and ice mission. We will be celebrating at Party Central where daugher Renee and Tom will host the annual feast. We were asked to bring some wine and with the help of son Jim we will be providing a wine extravaganza. I’ll keep the wine list secret and tell you later how it turned out. Oh, I’m also asked to bring Green Beans Almandine which are so easy I could make them in my sleep. Just hope Renee has a burner free for me to cook them 🙂

So the shopping errands are done and we can just relax for the rest of the day. I’m making Pioneer Woman’s Beef Stew with Beer and Paprika for dinner. See that’s why I love the cooler weather…more cooking options!

Hope your Thanksgiving is a very special day filled with love of friends and family and great food!
