Mr. Moto Bites the Dust
A few weeks ago son Jim and Zachary came by and removed Mr. Moto, our internet/TV satellite dish, from the roof of the MH. It was a big job and one that my Jim is not up to at the moment. The guys did a great job and with a little ingenuity got the dish safely down. Jim removed the wires and patched up the holes so the big Mr. Moto is now replaced by the little Verizon Mr. Modem!
We put the whole satellite kit and kaboodle on Craig's List last week. Would you believe we sold it!! I won't tell you the sales price but needless to say it was waaaaay below what we paid in 2002. But then we never would have hit the road without the satellite because that was the only way you could be connected to the internet then.
Jim was happy with the money and bought a Kindle for himself plus we have money to buy books. We're so happy with selling on Craig's List that we're cleaning out closets looking for more stuff to sell.
Last week we had Evan here for a day while he was on Spring break. We had fun! We played some softball just batting the sponge ball around. He told his Mom that he got me to do that so that I could exercise and lose weight. I enjoyed playing Uno with him and learning "Evan's Rules" which changed as the need arose. (If you've ever played cards with a 5 year old you'll know what I mean). I was also please to do some reading and writing with him. He's a pretty smart cookie, for example, he explained to me what a nemesis is. Yikes!
After Evan left we discovered that our walkie talkies (which we'd been playing with) were not on the same channel and so we couldn't communicate. They were 8 years old and we were not totally pleased with them anyway. We (two chemo brains) could not figure out how to get them back on the same channel so Jim went on Amazon and bought new Unidens for $20. Wow! What a difference! So Evan did us a favor on this one.
In other news Jim is feeling fairly good after 4 weeks of chemo, but....his hair is going. So he got a buzz cut. Haven't seen him like that in many years :) Maybe it will grow back dark!
