Time's A Wastin'
Well finally I might feel in the Christmas spirit but now time is flying by and I'd better get busy. I've got Family Calendar pages to prepare, Christmas cards to create, gifts to buy and maybe a few presents to wrap. Oh, and should I make some cookies?
Cookie making will commence on Saturday when we go to Renee's for our annual Girls' Bake Cookies Day. We start about 1 pm, whomp up multiple recipes, bake and decorate....sampling dough as we go :) It's fun with Evan there trying to get him to decorate sugar cookies. While we bake there's a pot of chili cooking. When the "boys" get back from their electronic gadget shopping we enjoy a casual chili and cornbread dinner. We are kind of late this year in our cookie baking but maybe that means we won't put on so much weight nibbling cookies every day of December.
I had in mind to get out my Roland keyboard from storage and practice up my Christmas carol repertoire but when I got it home I was absolutely not motivated. I bought it in 1993 as a gift to myself after completing my MBA but I never really got into learning all the wonderful things it will do. I realized this week that maybe the dream of playing the keyboard/piano really well was not MY dream. It's good to recognize what dreams belong to us and which ones really belong to someone else. So the keyboard goes back to storage until I figure out what to do with it.
My card creating program doesn't work on Vista so I needed a new one and bought the top recommendation ...Printmaster 2011 Platinum. It has way more functions than I need AND, can you believe, I could not figure out how to print a half-fold card. Amazon return!!! I just want to make greeting cards easily, I don't want to go in the party city business :) Guess I'll have to go back to the old laptop where my old card maker resides.
I feel the need to bake something on this rainy afternoon so I'm thinking...Mary's Country Apple Tart. So easy, so good!
