Feels Strange
It's been nearly two years since we packed it all in, hooked up the car and headed down the road with me in the passenger seat looking out the Imax window. Today we did it and it didn't take too log for me to relax and enjoy the ride and feel that maybe, just maybe, we might get on the road again.
The adventure was just to do a "shake down" since we've been off-road for awhile. It was not without hitches :) Packing up went smoothly. The jacks did not want to descend but after a squirt of silicone they were fine. The airbags on the coach did not want to fill up because the valve was out of whack. Jim did a field fit as he says.
We got the car hooked up just fine after stumbling around a bit, having a hard time remembering all the details of what to do. About half a mile down the road the speedometer stopped working. Well that happens on occasion. We stopped and Jim jiggled a switch thingy outside and then it started up again.
In our little 40 mile circle we encountered construction, cement dividers reminiscent of Salt Lake City, slow drivers, trucker who had a blow out right next to us and city lights that changed too fast so the yellow kid had to run them.
We unhooked at a wide spot in the road so Jim could go in the gas station and get propane and fill the gas tank. With that accomplished we met back at our space and I backed him in using the walkie talkies. I was a little out of practice but we managed that and then started the set up process. Ooops...the jack panel was dead. After putting the parking brake in and out several times, finally the panel lit up and we were able to put jacks down and slides out. Looks like maybe a bad switch there. Well it was REALLY a shake down cruise ;)
After I got most of the inside back in order I pooped out and took a nap. Jim tuned in the World Series and we just finished watching another blowout game. Giants in 4.
