Best Laid Plans

Since I have a bit of time on my hands I've been thinking about a part time job or maybe volunteering. I had zeroed in on a local home health care provider and had read all the info about working in the home of a senior, helping them out so they wouldn't have to go to assisted living or nursing home.

I completed the online screening, collected my references and updated my resume (that was a challenge) and headed over to fill out the application. They were very welcoming and happy I came to apply. I got through 5 pages of apps and came to the requirement to fill in my valid CA driver's license. Oooops!! Don't have one. Mine is from South Dakota. They were very sorry that was a deal breaker :) Insurance requirement. Oh well. However, I did feel so much better about myself after I read my resume :)

I was also going to walk with my girls in the Susan Komen Race for the Cure last Saturday. I had been stewing about it for weeks because I wanted to do it but physically I was surely not ready. Nor did I have the will power, initiative, whatever, to get out and walk every morning to get ready. Well then, lo and behold, the girls decided not to walk because they just had too much other stuff going on. I breathed a sigh of relief and had a breakfast muffin :)

We were going to take the motorhome out for a spin this morning because we haven't moved for months. We just wanted to check all connections, put in some new gas, fill up with cheaper propane, see if we remembered how to stow everything and look out the Imax window for a bit.

We got up early, had our coffee, moved the TV to the bed and then stepped outside. Drizzle. Checked the weather and there were pockets of drizzle all around with temps in the mid 60s. Not a pleasant day to hook up and travel when we didn't have to. So we scotched that plan and had another cup of coffee and watched some morning TV which we seldom do.

But I have accomplished something. Since it was in the plan, I did make up some Murphy's Oil Soap water and washed down half the cupboards and all the faux leather. OOOHHH...makes me feel so clean and productive.

Next I might make some fresh tomato soup. Sounds like a good treat for a rainy day. We'll be on the lookout for the next sunny day to make our move.
