If It Isn't One Thing...

...it's another!! Shoot.

Last I wrote we were waiting for xray results and looking forward to hitting the road. Well the results were fine. Jim's lungs still are not healed after the RFA surgery but we're assured that is normal and time heals all. However...

The next day after seeing the doctor Jim thought he was getting the flu, felt really bad. Fever, aches, yada yada. Then he developed a severe pain in the area of his left lung/ lower rib cage. Doctor time again. Diagnosis was pneumonia but "let's get that xrayed". We have both have had more than our fair share of this picture taking :)

Xray showed fluid in the lining of the lung. After listening to all the doctor explanations I went on Web-MD and diagnosed Jim's condition as pleurisy. Symptoms fit perfectly. He did get a prescription for a heavy duty antibiotic (side effects of paranoia and aggression ....yikes!) and a steroid to relieve inflammation.

A week later he's feeling better but not yet 100%. We delayed our departure for a week so with any luck we'll be on the road in 10 days. Just in time to see the last game of Angel's Spring Training in Tempe, AZ!! After that we're not quite sure what route we'll take. Depends on how much energy we have, what the weather is and how adventurous we feel. Do you know that it has been 18 months since we've been "on the road"?

Of course, all this leaves me stressed so I escape into books and have finished rereading four John Grisham novels. Also, I've spent way too much time playing around on Social City. Cooking has been on the back burner, so to speak, because Jim has not been hungry. So soup has been the order of the day.

Finally, we have some warm weather here in Hemet so sitting outside to read is very comfy. Now I just need to get to the swap library for more books...Or get my butt in gear and do something productive like scanning pictures.

Happy Dance

Can you see me doing the Happy Dance? Can you hear me shouting "Yippee"? I was able to reserve 2 weeks at Rancho Jurupa Regional Park for late May/ early June!! So we will be very close to our family for Mary's graduation, Jim's Birthday and Memorial Day. We can host a great family party!! Our site is next to the huge tree you see in my last entry. But any site in this park would work just fine.

I had brunch with my friend Vickie yesterday at Mimi's. What a great breakfast menu. I had Crab Cakes Florentine Benedict. Yikes! Crab Cakes on spinach topped with Hollandaise. Very yummy. We had a wonderful visit. I'm going to miss these regular times with Vickie as we travel. She has been one of my solid rocks over the past year and I know my life would not have been so easy through these trials without her.

I'm hooked on another internet game called Social City. Not as badly hooked as I was on Farm Town awhile back. This game has great animation and detail. It has a ways to go in user friendliness but I think I'll grow with it.

We're headed into Newport for a checkup xray for Jim and we'll see the doctor later this week. Then we'll focus on heading out for a few months. I'm gettin' excited :)

Day's Adventure

Time to take the house to the garage! Up early (ugh). Nervous that everything will work (silly me).

But the slide came in, the jacks came up, the satellite went down...off to a good start.

We dropped off the MH at the Ford dealer at 9:30 then headed out to explore a couple of Regional Parks. First we went to Yucaipa Regional which is in San Bernardino County. Wow! Lovely hilly, wooded park with concrete and paved campsites that are very large. Just the parklike setting that we dream about. Darn, I forgot to take a picture. But this will be close enough to family for short term visits...two week limit.

Forgot to mention that getting there took us through Oak Glen, the apple center of SoCal. We stopped at Apple Annies for a little snack of apple turnovers, ham and egg sandwich and coffee. It was realllly cold up there...39 degrees and windy.

Next we headed for Rancho Jurupa Regional which is in Riverside County on the Santa Ana River. Wow again! What a beautiful upgraded area they have added.

This very long site has a huge grassy common area that would be great for bocci ball :) I think any site here would work for us and they have some wonderful kiddie play areas like a little waterslide park. What fun it would be to have Evan for a day at this park! Again, a two week limit. Hope we can get in here for our late May stay back in this area.

We picked up the MH about 4:30 after a stop at Sonic for a burger and tater tots. Oh yummy but was I ever stuffed. I really only needed 1/2 a burger :)

Our setup back on our space went fine, even checked out the car/ MH conections, and was uneventful until I punched the button to put up the satellite. Nada. Tried and tried. We decided to just let it be and watch TV...deal with it tomorrow. But of course Jim had to punch the button to "search" again and voila...up it goes.

Then I turned on my computer and got a strange message that the computer had discovered a new network. Well...downhill from there. I watched TV while Jim tried to discover what was wrong. No luck. After I went to bed he found that his computer had the same problem. He was too pooped to work on it so turned off the computers and came to bed.

(Well I said uneventful but will confess that Jim fell off a short ladder while putting down the awning. His fall was thankfully broken by my lounge chair. He says his knee is a bit stiff. What a lucky guy!!)

This morning we expected to spend the day in frustration trying to resolve the problem, however...Windows suggested that he power down the modem and then restart it. Yipee...the correct IP address came back. What in the hell happened we will never know. I'm just thankful that we could have a lazy coffee morning, not one filled with four letter words :)

Tomorrow we look will join the family to celebrate Hilary's 23rd birthday. More memories for the bank :)
