Chemo Cut
On Day 13 I started losing my hair. It's amazing how fast this happened. One day I wash and curl it like normal, then next I'm getting handfuls of hair out. So this morning I took advantage of a local salon's offer for a complimentary chemo cut. It seemed like kind of a drastic thing to do but now it's over and I'm glad it's done. Feels better.
Based on input from my cancer support group I asked him to do a #2 or 3 buzz cut. Everyone said don't get your head shaved as it could result in tenderness and a rash. I don't think the stylist had done this before so he took directions from me. He was very nice and made it quite painless. The thing is ....they do this in a private room :) I really had a concern about sitting out in the middle of a salon to get it buzzed.
So all is well. Jim started his chemo on Wednesday and is still feeling fine. No nausea, eating well, sleeping good! Keep your fingers crossed for us that we continue to have an easy time with this.
