Seems Like Yesterday
I'm discovering beautiful pictures in my scanning adventure. This one especially caught my eye.
Even then I was taking windshield pictures. This is in Glacier National Park headed for "Going-to-the-Sun" Road which will take us near the top of the mountain straight ahead! We were in our 1978 Olds wagon pulling a Starcraft Camper with three teen agers. It was a wonderful trip! I've posted some pix from 1978 at Crater Lake and Glacier on my Picasa Album site. I've scanned about 400 slides this week. Slooooow going! But there's always a visual surprise around the corner so that's what keeps me at it.
I'm into "soup of the week" cooking. That fits in with all the rain we're having. And NO the leak is not fixed. The RV guy caulked some places around windows but we're still getting water at the floor where the slide joins the coach. It's not awful...just pretty annoying. We're using microfiber cloths to soak up the water. They get pretty sopping wet after a few hours of rain. And our weather forecast is for 5 days of showers. Oh well. SoCal really needs the rain. Guess we'll have to head to the factory in a few months to see if they can fix the problem.
So yesterday's soup was plain old vegetable. Jim's favorite. It's just like minestrone except no cabbage and beans and we added a rutabega. Pretty darn tasty. We just can't go back to canned soup after all this homemade stuff. What makes it even more special is adding a loaf of specialty bread. Last night was Garlic Bread, that is sourdough with garlic cloves embedded. Great for dunking in soup. For dessert? Jim stopped at the See's Candy store across the street and brought home a Valentine Heart of candy. Now I can really get used to this diet!
