Breakfast at Noon

Soft rain, quiet, warm and cozy blankets, snuggle up...sleeping in 'til 9. What a luxury :) The big storm finally hit with gusty wind and pounding rain during the night. But this morning...well it was really hard to get up.

Finally about 11 Jim wandered out and was amazed at the time but boy did he feel better. So we had breakfast at noon. Bacon, Marilyn Monroes, Texas Ruby grapefruit and coffee. This is the life. No chores waiting to be done, no house to clean...nothing. Just time to relax and enjoy.

JIm had a few errands to do so he went out and I put together another calendar page. When he got back with my ingredients I whipped up a batch of brownies and made some quacamole for a snack. I had plans to use the leftover swiss steak for dinner. But guess what? The brownies smelled soooo good and we just happened to have some whipping cream in the fridge.

So midway through a movie I whipped up the cream and we had Smothered Brownies with red wine for dinner. Absolutely decadent!! Guess I have tomorrow's dinner all ready!

Just curious. What are Marilyn Monroes? Love your site and really enjoy your postings. Keep up the good work

Marilyn Monroes are "two poached eggs on a slice of rye toast". The name just came to me a few years ago :)
