Brunch at the Mission Inn
It's 9 PM and I haven't had a bite to eat since our Brunch at the Mission Inn in Riverside. We were so lucky to get a lovely courtyard table on the Spanish Patio in the shade with a slight breeze and only steps from the "feast." Our 12:30 reservation was just right.
The kids (Jim, Renee and Tom) came with big appetites and we didn't leave until 3:00.
The champagne flowed freely and mixed well with the fresh orange juice. Do you think we had enough?
I'm sitting hear dreaming about the tiny Belgian Waffles with strawberries, blueberries and whipped cream. Or how about smoked salmon rolls sprinkled with capers and red onions...a really nice appetizer. The Eggs Benedict were hot, creamy and done just right. Omelets were made to order and in high demand.And did I mention the champagne flowed freely ? :) I just wish I could have eaten more...I've only mentioned about 10% of what was there!
Tiny Creme Brulees, luscious Lemon Squares, Tiramisou and fresh fruit topped off a wonderful meal. The designated drivers did have coffee with dessert!
While we love being with our entire family this was a special treat to have time with "our kids". Wish Laura and Steve had been there. I think this may become an annual "big kid" thing to do. If you get to Riverside... check out the Mission Inn Sunday Brunch!

I'd just like to say that, minus the champagne, I think all of us grandkids would enjoy this as well! Maybe sometime we could go as a family? Maybe for a birthday or something. I dunno, just a suggestion. Glad you guys had a good time tho!
