St. George, Utah
I wouldn't want to live here, even though Rand McNally designates St. George as one of the 10 best places to retire. The terrain is just to crazy, "raw", and tilted for me. Take the picture below from Snow Canyon where in one shot you see lava flows, petrified sand dunes, white quartize mountains and red iron bluffs. It is an awesome little state park about 50 miles from Zion National Park, not as spectacular but certainly worth a drive through...or hiking if it weren't so darn hot....103 today. I think this is a place with moderate winters, but "get out of town" summers.
We're staying in Temple View RV Park where I can see the Mormon Temple from my window. It is sugar cube white and certainly stands out in the landscape. From my window it is set against the red cliffs and black lava cone. What a landscape!
